"By granting absolution to a convicted moonshiner, George W. Bush also earned the unique distinction of becoming the first president to pardon a cast member of the 1972 Academy Award-nominated movie Deliverance."

I hope that the Webb Campaign uses the George Allen stuff to at least get within striking distance of getting elected, but that's expecting too much.

I found Bush's speech interesting. First, he outright admits, for the first time, that Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11, despite the Administration going to painful lengths to link them together. The second is the tone of desperation bordering on hysteria. It's more like "Please believe me oh don't go" than anything else. All those Republicans who were working so hard to make their campaigns local so that they could play their incumbant card ("look how hard I work for US while all those OTHER Republicans suck") just got boned. Also, Bush doesn't seem to know who the Democrats are. It is not the "Democrat Party."

Also, whoever dyes Bush's hair needs to be totally fired.

This was totally what I'm in for. If I don't get some good clips on The Daily Colbert Show Report this evening, I will need to track down the video online. It just shines through on the transcripts.

Incidentally, that report is from last month, but it's being released today. They're talking about it on WAMU now.
