quickies, bold
My connection to OTD keeps timing out today, so email checking has been sporadic at best. Un-pleasant.

Heroclix last night was fun. I came in second! (Out of four people, heh.) Wolverine plus Bullseye would be a great combination, if Bullseye wasn't a lazy bastard. Also, Savage Mill is vaguely on the way home, so, this may become a semi-regular thing.

In related news, I'm getting excited about HorrorClix.

Work is goofy.

Turns out, despite a quick scare, the Ramada in Laurel *does* have karaoke this Saturday, so, whew.

Tonight, shaving (badly needed) and zomg CoH. Tomorrow, karaoke with alainduil. Sunday, many many things.

If only they'd put something in the figure gallery...
PMMJ: Mailboxcheetahmaster on July 21st, 2006 02:21 pm (UTC)
I was about to say. Once the poster's out, the cat's out of the bag. Much less the convention season.
Kimmayalainnduil on July 21st, 2006 02:37 pm (UTC)
alainnduil, imo

and I hate to tell you this, but I have a raging sore throat and swollen glands. things do not look good.

Sacre bleu!

Not what you needed for your night off, not one bit.

Keep us updated.

drinking lots of water, and chowing down on some vitamin c tablets. we shall see.

Played a quick HorrorClix demo at Origins this year. I like the demo figures, they've got the right style to them imho. Decided against trying to aquire a Great Cthulhu figure, perhaps against my better judgement.

I have no intention to buy heavily into it, but I've become quite the eBay ranger for these prepainted plastic minis games, so I don't think I'll be hurting.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but WizKids may have hit on something here.
Eric Johnsonsophistbastard on July 21st, 2006 02:46 pm (UTC)
I'd only buy Cthulhu because it's Cthulhu. That said, theme wise the game intrigues me more than the other Clix games, gameplay wise it's hard to form an opinion in the quick demo games (especially as I haven't played a Clix game in years). But how can you not want an evil clown prepainted mini?
Andy: roman d20castironskillet on July 21st, 2006 04:00 pm (UTC)
I haven't played Clix in years, nor been to a convention in many more than that, but I too almost went just to get a Cthulhu. I'm so with you.

prepainted plastic minis games

Mage Knight at all?
The Antichrist: Respek Knucklestheantichrist on July 21st, 2006 05:02 pm (UTC)
you are wise
PMMJ: Gravelingcheetahmaster on July 21st, 2006 05:29 pm (UTC)
I played some MKDungeons, and picked up some other cool-looking figs when the game was on the way out, but never got into it heavily.

I really enjoyed Mage Knight (although some of the game balance... wasn't) - but in the end I didn't love the idea of giving like 5+ cubic feet over to storage for it... ;)

Neither do I! ;-P

You don't get a choice! :}

!!

I believe, when you moved in here, I gave you an *entire room* just for that purpose. ;-p
PMMJ: Stitch (cute!)cheetahmaster on July 21st, 2006 05:58 pm (UTC)
And that's where it lives, more or less.

I can dislike being compliant, if I want to! *pththth*
PMMJ: Quad Damagecheetahmaster on July 21st, 2006 05:31 pm (UTC)
Oh, storage for the prepainted plastic stuff is *vastly* better than storage for the metal, paint-yer-own minis, so, step in the right direction.

Also, 5+ cubic feet? Man, that's a *horde*.
nazgulpseudotheist on July 21st, 2006 06:06 pm (UTC)
Ummm... 2'x2'x2'= 8 cubic feet. I think your AT-AT alone nearly takes up 5 cubic feet...

Listen here, math boy, if I wanted your opinion, I'd punch it into your wristwatch calculator.
nazgulpseudotheist on July 21st, 2006 06:26 pm (UTC)
Wristwatch calculator? Please! I have a Palm cell phone, with a scientific calculator program and a periodic table of the elements...
Lizammitnox on July 22nd, 2006 12:55 am (UTC)
It is a horde. Name a price, I have a 30 gallon black trash bag full of MK figures, and that isn't even all of them, and the thought of eBaying 30 gallons of plastic figures puts me in seizures.
PMMJ: Quad Damagecheetahmaster on July 22nd, 2006 11:39 am (UTC)
I'm pretty confident that if I walked into the apartment carrying that, M. would actually stab me. With a knife. Maybe more than once.

Plus, really, I'd just want to root through it for the cooler-looking figs. I don't actually *need* a bunch of MK figs if for some unknown reason I ever play Dungeons again.
dreamerdevie on July 21st, 2006 06:20 pm (UTC)
HorrorClix sounds pretty cool. Lemme know if you go anywhere with it.
PMMJ: Quad Damagecheetahmaster on July 21st, 2006 06:26 pm (UTC)
WILL DO
dreamerdevie on July 21st, 2006 06:28 pm (UTC)
Meep! The Quad damage is yelling at me!
PMMJ: Quad Damagecheetahmaster on July 21st, 2006 06:32 pm (UTC)
To this day, when I am walking around an empty parking garage or dark building, I swear I acutally hear the Quad Damage noise somewhere a couple hallways away. I was very jumpy back when I played Quake 1, because when you *hear* the Quad Damage noise, that means:
a.) one of your homicidal enemies just got the powerup, and
b.) they got it close enough to you to be in earshot.
dreamerdevie on July 21st, 2006 06:34 pm (UTC)
It truly is a terrifying thing.
