Dear Post Express,

It would have been nice to mention the today's Metro schedule changes in *yesterday's paper*, not *today's paper.* Once I'm reading your paper *on the Metro,* I'm well aware that the schedule has changed.

Love, me

Barring that, you could just pay attention to when the Federal holidays are...

Yes, I knew today was a holiday, but also knew the Metro was running and I didn't see any of the regular notifications that the schedule was changing.

I generally just assume that Federal holiday = weekend schedule.

See, it's not, as the trains started at the regular time. Not all federal holidays are created equal.

Oh, and they're doing track maintenance on a couple lines today, so, yeah, added bonus.

Seriously! There wasn't a "holiday schedule" for Columbus Day, so what gives?

I got doubly screwed because my shuttle from the train was *also* on holiday schedule, so it didn't even start RUNNING until 8a. I'm usually on the dratted thing by 7:30, and today was NOT a fun morning to be standing an extra half-hour in the cold!

Ouch no.

I lucked out in that the trains started on time, but they were running fewer of them, so, a nice long ride for me.

They might even do us the favor of sending out a "We're on holiday schedule!" notice in an email alert, for those who don't read the paper.

Add to that the fact that there were mechanical difficulties somewhere on the Orange line, which had been cleared up before I ever arrived there... but I still had to wait 15 minutes in the cold for a train :( Well thanks for giving me the opportunity in your blog to bitch about it!

Yes!

Heh, it's what the interweb was founded on. That and Monty Python quotes.
