Two and a half hour drive home today, almost entirely stop and go traffic.

This wouldn't be so bad, if I had something to do during the day. I mean, other than dreading that I won't be qualified/competent to do whatever they eventually get around to assigning me to do.

On the other hand, I was fingerprinted today.

Yeah, that was the worst traffic I've seen in a long time. Even normal heavy traffic moves better than that did. I jumped off just across the Potomac, but there was a lot of traffic there too. Just consider that you've probably seen the worst that can be thrown at you now.

I'd fucking quit and go on welfare. That shit is insanity.

Also consider: I left before dawn, and got home at sunset. Which is expected in winter, but not in *Rocktober*.

Humans weren't meant to spend the *majority* of their day working or getting to work. It's *out of balance.*

If only welfare was all it's cracked up to be.

Now, if I was to emigrate to some nearby country...

I think the old farmer's saying is that you work from "Can't see to can't see."

At least with my job, I get outside during the day. I like knowing what the weather is because I can look out a window, not because I heard it from the cubicle jockey two spots over that just came back fro mlunch.

I live downtown and work downtown so my "commute" is a 20 minute jaunt through the downtown core.

I am so sorry. Jesus, long commutes and no health care, WHAT HAS AMERICA DONE FOR YOU LATELY?

I should be on the Canada marketing board. Rumour has it they are trying to attract immigrants. Who would have thunk it?

You hopefully either a>get some interesting work at your current place or b> get a new job somewhere closer.

I've got two things for you.

Anger: R.A.R. Two and a half hour commute. R.A.A.R.R.

Encouragement: You're qualified and comptetant at most things. Why should this new job be any different?

(You know what it takes to sell realestate? It takes BRASS BALLS to sell realestate.)

Danke, danke.

I was on a kick a while back, trying to get *everyone* to watch that movie.

Cripes. I must have dodged most of it, yesterday was bad but not outside-the-usual bad. It took me one hour to get back to Laurel proper.

One day, when you are busy and competantly working along at whatever they give you to do, you will miss the days when you had nothing to do. =) Now that we're entering Insanity Time here again, I sort of miss the slow parts.

Take heart! Unless you have Monday off, your Monday commute will be a /breeze/. Columbus Day!
