Resident Evil: Apocalypse was more video game than the first movie, and suffers a little for it. Still an OK summer action movie, though. It just had too much to live up from the first one.

My #1 big ol' complaint is: not enough zombies. I mean, honestly. Once they get into the whole Nemesis second-half of the movie, the shambling undead take a back seat. The zombies they had were good! The dogs looked even better this time, too. I came for a zombie movie, not an unstoppable-killer-with-a-rocket-launcher movie.

And Alice became a total action hero in this one. I'm still trying to figure out how she knew they were holed up in the church, when she made her dramatic entrance. Unless she just felt like driving a motorcycle through a stained glass window, which I totally get.

However, at the end of the big boss fight, when the corporate boss yells "Finish him!" I entirely cracked up.
