First half of the year is over! Here's a list of all the movies I have seen in theaters so far this year, in order from best to worst.
.) City of God (2/22)
.) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (3/21)
.) Mean Girls (5/3)
.) Peter Pan (1/15)
.) Big Fish (1/11)
.) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (6/4)
.) Kill Bill, volume 2 (4/17)
.) The Triplets of Belleville (4/13)
.) Fahrenheit 911 (6/25)
.) Hellboy (4/2)
.) The Ladykillers (4/10)
.) Dawn of the Dead (4/2)
.) Saved! (6/5)
.) Control Room (6/25)
.) The Terminal (6/19)
.) Monster (4/27)
.) Van Helsing (5/9)
.) The Chronicles of Riddick (6/17)
.) Secret Window (3/13)
.) Starsky & Hutch (3/16)
If I had to put labels on it, 1-2 are top rung, the bee's knees. 3-9 are dang good. 10-14 are ehn. 15-20 are, wow, yeah.
Oh, and it's just coincidence I publish this list the day before I see Spider-man 2. Heh heh heh.
The list changes early and often. Sometimes a movie goes up in my estimation after it sits in my mind for a while. More often, however, it goes down. I've changed the order of 3, 4, and 5 about six times, and I'm still not convinced I have it down right. And I just now changed the order of 18 and 19. I rule.
