barrel of a gun

And now is the time for the second overnight shift. Bleh. Here's hoping it goes vaguely smoother than the first. This time, I've worked out a better division of duties with the Under Boss, and really, my part should be slightly easier. Famous last words, I know.

Working hard to get through the third book of the Eisenhorn trilogy, so I can start on the smutty book club book. And I am *so* behind on my comic book reading, not to mention painting for the tournament (on the, uh, 18th? eep.)

Speaking of geeky things, I would like to damn a certain someone for getting my mental wheels turning.

Red Queen's sister flies back tomorrow, and tomorrow night is Velvet's dance thing, which will be keen.

Also, we theoretically get cable tomorrow, because Red Queen is keen. It will be weird watching TV after, jeez, well over a month without. (And facing the cold hard truth of the Pro Wrestling Slump we are in. Sigh.)

Sunday, Aberrant, and I am a little nervous. And unprepared!

YOU LOVE NEWS: The time is ripe for more bloodshed in Zimbabwe. The press gets its hands on the Republican primer for the fall. A quick commentary on digital TV and the FCC. With inflated ratings gone, reality shows meet reality in network programming. And, wanna hear what David Bowie has to say about Elvis? Finally, the new American Dream should be the prosecution of the stupid.

Fortune Cookie: "You will be recognized and honored as a community leader."
MP3: Kurt Angle's theme music. I am not kidding.
