Last night, a nice quiet dinner with Operative X, including a new waitress at DuClaw, followed by a viewing of The Importance of Being Earnest. I do like this new version, even if it isn't exactly faithful to the original. great performances, hot and fast Wilde dialog, and Reese Witherspoon in some goofy dream sequences. Highly recommended.

A much lower recommendation to The Fast and the Furious, which I saw last week but forgot to review. I honestly don't understand why this movie was so popular. It is fun to sit around and mock though, and it's very easy. And hey, Ted Levine. I'm a pretty big Vin Diesel mark, too.

Dateline is claiming to reveal who Deep Throat is tonight (according to some study, mind you, not an actual investigation.) My money's still on Alexander Haig.

I still can't believe they found Moussaoui fit to stand trial. Not that I think he's insane, but I think it will become an even bigger circus, if that's possible.

First in what I am sure will be a long list of things I forgot about NYC: magazine stores. We passed at least a couple stores that just sold magazines, both boasting they had well over 7,000 titles. And from a quick glance inside, man, sure looked like that was true. Who needs all those? Yeesh.
