Heading down to southern MD tonight, after picking up Z. Big family dinner tomorrow, back stateside on Friday. Weekend will be weird, but hopefully relaxing. Maybe some quality time to be spent working on straightening up the gaming basement.

As noted on the Facebooks, scored me a ticket to see VNV Nation at the 930 Club on Tuesday, December 6th. Going to be a busy week, and Tuesday is a funny night for concert-ing, but VNV is seriously one of the best live shows I have seen, and I am totally willing to go out of my way to see them again.

* Oh hey. 'Statistics don't back up claims of rampant drug cartel-related crime along border.'
* "One in five children are at risk of hunger. For children in African-American or Latino households, it's closer to one in three."
* Michael Scherer recaps last night's Republican debate.
* Joe Klein wonders where the Limbaugh vote goes. (Slanted, but good read.)
* Why are Republicans so hot for Coolidge?
* Nifty! Evidence that, yes, dinosaurs ate birds.
* How did the NBA get this bad?
* What the internet was built for: classic album covers reimagined with kittens.

"On Nov. 23, 1963, the BBC aired the very first episode of a brand-new science fiction series about a mysterious man in a time machine called a TARDIS (which looked exactly like a British police box), who could travel to whatever time or whichever planet he chose."
