Yeah, so, Sunday, we took Z. to see Bee Movie. I have to admit, it's not what I expected. I don't know what I expected, mind you, but that wasn't it. It was pretty funny, as kids movies go (funnier than I expected, as I am not a fan of Seinfeld.) But the plot was all over the map, and took some pretty dramatically odd turns with little to no warning. Which helped the movie, in my opinion. (See also: Ray Liotta.) I'm pretty easily pleased, though, so take that as you will. Not a great movie, but a good one. Catch it on cable, or maybe DVD, if you're a parent.

New trailers:
* The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie - Oh, hell no. Next!
* The Golden Compass - This trailer was dramatically better than the other trailers I've seen. Seriously, it even gives you a vague idea of what's going on. Why wasn't it out sooner?
* This Christmas - Good cast, but I have an aversion to Christmas comedies, in general.
* Kung Fu Panda - Z. was a big fan, so I know I will end up seeing this. And Jack Black has the capacity to be amusing.

"So it has come to this in a nation governed by the rule of law: an agency of the executive branch, apparently advised by the White House and Justice Department not to destroy vital legal and historical evidence, does so anyway, in its own name, for its own purposes and without first taking it to the courts."
