Thanks to some fortunate timing last night, M. and I were able to sneak out and meet up with a good crowd of people to catch Knocked Up. Honestly, one of the best comedies I have seen in a good long time. Like their previous movie, the humor is never mean. I like mean humor, don't get me wrong, but it's impressive to see they don't have to resort to that, and can still come up with such an excellent movie. There's a lot of jokes in their that are perfect for parents, but I am sure the movie would hold up to the non-breeding set as well. The cast is great, and one of my few complaints is that there wasn't enough scenes with some of the minor characters (Harold Ramis)! Well worth your time.

New trailers:
* The Game Plan - yes, it looks like that movie we've already seen a hundred times. I can't help it if I like the Rock. Will catch it, on cable or something. Maybe a marathon with The Pacifier.
* Evan Almighty - I was already convinced to see this, but the new trailer, IMHO, gives too much away.

Analysis: when presidential pardons turn political. Some history lessons here. And looking ahead to the Republican hopefuls, and where they stand.

* "A report compiled by six human rights groups listed the names of people who remain unaccounted for after having passed through US custody."
* Problems getting a passport? You're not alone.
* "The 18 presidential candidates who came to Saint Anselm College here for a pair of debates this week displayed a remarkable ability to ignore the real-world consequences of many of the policies they were advocating."
* The UK works on its anti-terrorism laws.
* Genes behind many serious diseases revealed.
* Today's awesome headline: "Bear robot rescues wounded troops"
