Scorpion

(no subject)

OTD appears to be out of commission, which is a shame, because I have a really interesting news post all ready to roll this morning.

So, yeah, no e-mail for me for now. Will sack this post when things are back to normal.

Mail is back up and in style.

Busy day ahead, to be followed by a busy week. Fantastic.
News

in brief

MONDAY, MONDAY:
* Maliki's administration tied to arrest and removal of senior Iraqi army and national police officers who have been cracking down on militias.
* Rice rejects tying US support to benchmarks for the Iraqi government.
* "Is it significant that the five Supreme Court justices who voted to uphold the federal ban on a controversial abortion procedure also happen to be the court's Roman Catholics?"
* Israeli report highly critical of Olmert's war in Lebanon.
* BBC analysis of Bush's rarely-used veto.
* Tony Snow is back on the job.
* Hollywood picks up on autism.
* Harold Meyerson on the intersection of science, religion, and homosexuality.
* Excerpts from Christopher Hitchens' new book, God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything.
Comics

all hail mullet Superman

You know what I am also fine with? The DC comics animated fare moving to direct-to-DVD sequels:

Superman: Doomsday

Seriously, a lot of the times I like their versions better than the comic book ones. So, let's keep it rolling!

(I confess I am a little leery of re-casting the voices, however. While I like the Whedon-posse as much as the next fan, Tim Daly *is* the voice of Superman; Clancy Brown *is* the voice of Lex. Etc.)

(Added bonus: PG-13! hee.)

(I love parentheses.)

(Anyways.)
