Thrilling Two-Fisted Tales of Commuters Observed:

Thursday's commute home had two equally entertaining tidbits. The first was the blind man sitting opposite me, reading a Braille copy of PC World magazine. The second was the red line Metro car opposite me on the platform. Someone had written in the grime on the side of the car:

TEST DIRT
DO NOT WASH!

I tried to get out my cell cam in time, but failed.

Welcome to America, 2007

"The New York Daily News today reports on a signing statement President Bush quietly issued two weeks ago, in which he asserts his right to open mail without a warrant."

"The White House and the Secret Service quietly signed an agreement last spring in the midst of the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal declaring records identifying visitors to the White House are not open to the public."

Rep. Ellison on inclusion.

Chevy Chase on Gerald Ford.

I heard it on NPR: meet the real Sacha Baron Cohen.

The BBC talks radio with Garrison Keillor.

three easy pieces

1.) OK, you know, traffic on a Saturday evening would be bad enough if it didn't take me a half hour just to get out of Georgetown. Yeesh. Stupid nice weather bringing out all the yuppies.

2.) Book hunt: if I loaned you my copy of Anno Dracula, please let me know, before I go insane trying to find it.

3.) A poll!

Is the Robert Plant song "Tall Cool One" awful or awesome?

Awful
7(35.0%)
Awesome
2(10.0%)
Yes
11(55.0%)
