I went into Never Let Me Go with only a limited knowledge of the premise. I saw it was some sort of thriller, with odd scifi/'other' elements. And, as it turns out, I was totally mistaken. The film is the best kind of scifi, the kind where scifi is the setting for the rest of an otherwise excellent movie. But that movie also turned out to be a weighty human drama. Don't get me wrong, it was a good flick, but not what I was expecting. (No, I didn't read the book.) Casting was great, and they all gave solid work. Definitely want to see more from Carey Mulligan. Catch it on Netflix.
New trailers: * It's Kind Of A Funny Story - Yes, Zach Galifianakis is the new 'it' actor, but this does look entertaining, if a little off. (Bonus: Faraday!) * The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - After seeing this trailer, I am totally going to go watch the first two in the series. Especially before the American remakes. * Conviction - Whuf. Exactly the kind of feel-good true story I avoid, but I do love Sam Rockwell... * Black Swan - I totally want to see this in theaters. I'm not sure anyone will want to go with me.
