Headed out west to Eagle & Empire to check out Where Heroes Dare!, a minis game of pulp adventure. It's fun! The game encourages goofy roleplaying, and while the rules aren't overly complex, there's enough variety written in there to let you go from Russian loyalist troops to Eastern monks with kung fu powers to the mad scientist and his attractive daughter. It won't replace my favorite games, but it's certainly worth checking out every now and then (they've been running twice a month or so out there.) Especially since I can use figs I already have lying around.

I should also like to mention it was an even better trip out there thanks to cool friends. Imam gave me a ride out of the city, and we stopped for dinner at Roy Rogers. And afterwards, Maurice, who doesn't read LJ, went out of his way to pick me up and give me a ride back to the Metro, to save me some time. Good folks, them both.
