Netflixin': Gran Torino

M. and I sat down to watch Gran Torino last night. It's a good movie, but not a great movie. It's fun watching Eastwood be ancient and amusingly (but cringingly) racist, and the culture clash is entertaining, but the drama never quite gels the way I think they were hoping it would, and you end up forgiving a lot of the plot given the quality of the characters. Worth watching, but not exactly Oscar material. Side note: the chick that plays Sue is great, I hope to see her in more things.
