Rains, pours, etc.
So, yes, unhappiness with the home situation does translate into me getting more time out of the house, which is a step in the right direction. Not an ideal circumstance, as I do still live there and stuff, but hey, surviving.

Last night was a fine sekrit mission with Operative X to Bethesda-land, cobb zalad was acquired, and Whale Rider was watched at Ye Olde Landemarke. It's a fine film, I recommend it highly. And what did we hear on the ride home? "Suspicious Minds"! Sah-weet-a. Left (comparatively) early, yet still managed to wake up late today. A guy can't get no breaks, I tell you.

Monday was also lunch and comic books (and errands) with JubJub, a fine way to spend an afternoon off.

And as for the rest of the week? too many decisions for someone as indecisive as me! I can realistically get another night out for myself, and drag RQ to something else by convincing her she will have fun.

Tonight: either Heroclix at Goblin's, or Brikskeller with ex-co-workers?
Thursday: Dream Wizards for gaming, or Karaoke? (And some week soon: or CLUBBINK?!)
Friday: No idea. But Fight Club is playing as a midnight movie at the Avalon.
Saturday: No idea. But Fight Club is playing as a midnight movie at the Avalon. Also, Dream Wizards swap meet, which I agreed to be at, but might back out of. And a certain friend in NoVA needs help moving, unfortunately at the same time.

Which also reminds me, a lion's share of my friends are hitting New Orleans next week, but I am sure a couple will be around. Were my house not full of Redding, I would have people over. Sigh.

(Also, need to make time for friend in Baltimore one of these weeks.)

This list isn't including a couple movies in theaters I still kinda wanna see. I've caught up with everything I need to see on the big screen, everything else (T3, Charlie's Angels 2, Bend It Like Beckham, Finding Nemo, Sinbad) I can wait for on cable/DVD. Except maybe Bad Boys 2 and Spy Kids 3-D. And soon, SWAT, Freddy vs. Jason, and Shaolin Soccer. But I am rambling, since I love movies.

So anyways.

Some Heroclix links, since I wager like me, other people can't keep up with HCRealms.com anymore:
* The current rumors for the next Marvel set (Critical Mass), which is in theory this November.
* The new maps, coming up in the accurately-titled map sets.
* And if you wanna see something neat, check out ClixMaps.com
* Finally, the confirmed to-date list for IndyClix. It appears they are doing separate releases for the UK and the US (UK gets more 2000AD characters, US gets more CrossGen characters) which is convincing me that I should forego the box this time around, and just shoot for the singles I want (since, well, Hellboy and 2000AS are the biggest draws for me.) Very frustrating.

I could never eat Cobb Salad after watching Action.

Is Action a TV show or something? I'm in the dark here.
Miss Mayvalancymay on August 6th, 2003 11:41 am (UTC)
Yeah, it was an HBO sitcom with Jay Mohr.

I *heart* Jay Mohr! Though I didn't have HBO when "Action" was on.

So, what does it have to do with a cobb salad?
Miss Mayvalancymay on August 6th, 2003 03:46 pm (UTC)
You probably don't want to know the indignities heaped upon the noble cobb salad by the characters in Action, not if you're a fan of said salad.

Yes, but my fatal flaw is my curiousity, and you're stringing me along at this point. :}

Oh, Jay Mohr goes off on some guy who stole his parking spot (I think, it's been a while) about how he's just a waiter and if he had any self-respect he'd be pissing (or something) in the cobb salad instead of serving people.

And then the next time Mohr goes out to eat, he orders a cobb salad, and the waiter turns out to be that guy.

Oh, OK. I thought you were gonna say they were made with kittens or something.

And the above sounds pretty funny.

Bend It Like Beckham is a great film. It won't really lose anything on DVD, since it's not exactly a big-screen blockbuster, but it's worthy of keeping in your forebrain when making plans while it's still in theatres.

I still need to see Finding Nemo, dagnabbit.
