Thank you for a lovely party! I enjoyed the conversations I got into, and admiring the awesome Lilek's Regrettable Food book.
I was glad to see about half the baklava was eaten before I left, even if I ate most of the sushi myself. :-) It's funny, the sushi would have gone in a hot second at other places I go -- everyone's different. Is there anything that would be particularly favored at your place another time?
BTW I decided a one-year-old was really too young for the Dr. Seuss game (she EATS books!), so I'm hanging on to it for now. I may take it up to my sister's (she has a 9-year-old) or just enjoy the pretty tin box. :-) I took cheese to their party instead (gjetost and a raspberry cream swirl), because I know the father loves specialty cheese, and the invitation had said baby presents weren't necessary.
The sushi and the baklava were both gone before midnight, so I'd consider that a welcome addition. Food's always a tricky choice, based on people's moods. I like to bring cookies places, as they always seem to go.
