In Theaters: Inglorious Basterds

Pleasant surprise on Saturday as last-minute plans turned into a handful of the Maryland crew trekked up towards Rockville to catch a movie with us, followed by late night diner fare and good conversation. (They all live in Laurel/Columbia, so we don't get to see them often enough anymore.) At the risk of getting too maudlin, it was one of those fancy evenings where everything just falls into place. Great times.

Oh, and the movie. Inglorious Basterds was in fact even better than I expected. Like other recent Tarantino flicks, the runtime is a little long, but he packs a lot of movie into that, and I honestly couldn't tell you what I would pull. It's violent and fun, well worth your time to catch it on the big screen.

New trailers:
* Inception - Man, I have no idea what this is about. But, it's Christopher Nolan, and he's kind of batting a thousand, so we're in.
* The Wolfman - Could be good. Oddly, I'd have more confidence after seeing the trailer if I didn't know it was a big-budget affair.
