another boring weekend update

On this day in 1793, French revolutionary writer Jean Paul Marat was stabbed to death in his bath by Charlotte Corday.

Finally watched Bob Roberts last night. It's... interesting. Not quite funny enough to be a commentary, a bit too satirical to be a drama. RQ said it best when she asked what the point of the movie was. (Mind you she likes it enough to own it, but still.) Worth watching, if for nothing else than all the guest stars (and Jack Black when he's, like, twenty.)

StraightDope.com settles another one of my dangerous curiosities.

Today's must-read article: Maureen Dowd on Bush's House of Waffles. (courtesy Operative X, since I haven't had time this weekend to keep up on these things.)

Oh, and: CIA cut the Iraqi-Nigeria uranium reference three months before the State of the Union address. This is big, folks.
