tonight's sermon
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life. Electric word, life, it means forever and that's a mighty long time. But I'm here to tell you, there's something else: the afterworld. A world of never ending happiness, you can always see the sun, day or night...

So when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills, you know the one (Doctor Everything'll Be Alright) instead of asking him how much of your time is left, ask him how much of your mind, baby. 'Cause in this life, things are much harder than in the afterworld. In this life, you're on your own.

And if the elevator tries to bring you down? Go crazy.

Philosophy
So what has brought you to this way of thinking? Also, something I discovered again last year a revelation to me: if you want it to be different, you must do the changing. That may not be an earth shattering statement to you, but when I took it to heart and mind, it changed my outlook and life enormously. The power is in you, outside forces do not conspire against you, though it may seem like it. The hard truth is that you must do the work to change your world. At my age, I'm still learning it.

Heh. A song by Prince.

if you want it to be different, you must do the changing.

Always sound advice.

"To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly."
