two debate follow-ups
#1: The question about ignoring Pakistani sovereignty, if it meant getting bin Laden? Us nerds know the Kobayashi Maru when we hear it.

#2: Everyone talks about the town hall being McCain's territory, but man, seeing them up and walking around, you notice that Obama is much taller and McCain is hunched over and really bald.

More later, but here's your dose of Mightygodking. Bonus points for FactCheck.org and Fact Checker. Good quick response from Michael Scherer, also.

"Tom Brokaw, meanwhile, did not especially impress me: he seemed peevish about the time limits, and to the extent he tried to drive the discourse, it was often with weirdly stunt-y questions. ('Is Russia an Evil Empire?' Gentlemen, I invite you to start a new Cold War!)"

Here's another liveblogging, from a friend of mine:

e.g.:
9:12: Mr. McCain, yes, we had too heard of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Even if we weren't homeowners. Quit downtalking.

the important question, really, is
Hey! Why did no one ever tell me I am a 23rd-century starship port? Nerds, you've let me down!

furthermore
I have, in fact, been in contact with photonic fleas, as when I was growing up my family lived with a big fat kitty named Photon, and she did, unfortunately, being an indoor-outdoor kitty, have a few fleas.

Thus
in conclusion
STAR TREK IS ALL TRUE

That one I knew about! Mainly because rob_donoghue's journal is on my f-list.

Ah, that mightygodking, I must say I had many the same thought process as he did throughout.

And did anybody else besides me notice that when McCain talks about oil his eyes go wide and you can almost see a thick line of drool slide down the side of his cheek?

If I still lived in MD, I would seriously consider a Hypnotoad write-in vote
Point 2 is interesting, because I just listened to the debate on the radio. Haven't read any other commentary on the debate yet, but Brokaw seemed sort of inconsistent on enforcing the rules.
