another (gaming) lifestyle change

Got in some more quality Team Fortress 2 time last night. First, let me note that warmaster was the one who convinced me to try out the game, and he was completely correct. It's been a while since I played any FPS (like, Quake 2 a while.) And, man. Good times. Add in the checks-and-balances of the different character classes, and the tactical nature of the maps and missions, etc. I know I'm late to the table, but I'm certainly enjoying it. And the hours fly right by while I'm playing. A good sign.

...And, I think at this point it's addictive enough for me to wean myself off City of Heroes. I love CoH dearly, mind you, and it's a different style of game, slower, but with more depth. But I really only seriously play one video game at a time, and I know CoH can't last forever. No MMORPG really can. So I might as well get out from the recurring fees while I have this convenient distraction here, and just never log back in and never look back.

Other than that, it's been a quiet week around the house.

Tonight: uh, dunno. Catching up on key speeches from the Democratic convention that I so totally skipped?
Sunday: heading to Virginia, come back Monday night.
Tuesday: nose, grindstone.
