Amusing Z. note of the week: her step-ish brother R. picked up Rock Band for his birthday recently, which explains why Z. was singing "Hey! Ho! Let's go!" now and then over the weekend.

OK, lots to catch up on.

Monday, we decided to give Z. a treat, and took her to Chuck-E-Cheese's. There's one in the plaza near our house. And while it was, shall we say, a little ghetto, I have to admit, MOnday afternoon there was almost no one there. And taking her there for a couple hours, tokens included, was still cheaper than us going to the movies, so, not a bad way to spend the afternoon, on the whole.

Took the Metro to drop her off at day care Tuesday morning, and man, two hours each direction. She was a real trooper on the commute, though.

Tuesday afternoon, headed down to the rental office to discuss the rent increase. Turns out the company that owns the complexes said everyone was having their rent raised, across the board. The good news is, we were able to talk them from a 10% increase to a 5% increase. Which isn't good, mind you, but I think we can live with that for a few extra months while we find a good new place, and we don't have to move right away.

Wednesday, the lovely salami_salome came by to pick us up, and we all headed to Ranazul to celebrate snidegrrl's birthday. Now, as it turns out, Ranazul is not a Worlds of Warcraft zone, but is in fact a tasty tapas place outside of Laurel. Good crowd, delicious food. As always, my only regret is that I didn't get to spend as much time as I wish I had to catch up with everyone. Afterwards, salami_salome hung out with us for some quality time.

And last night was dinner with elizardaa and dreamerdevie. M. had quite a spread, with ham, mashed potatoes, and more. We followed it up with some epic Robo Rally. Woo!

Tonight, City of Heroes, I suspect. Maybe some painting as well. Quiet weekend ahead.
