On dancing and optimism

Despite being full of the sarcasm and otherwise a general space jerk, I am not-so-sekritly an optimist about a lot of things in general, and despite appearances otherwise, generally a happy person.

This carries over into my obsessive news reading. A lot of the news is, in fact, pretty terrible stuff. Lots of intractable problems, no easy solutions, a lot of the world is basically a bucket of suck. However. I will run across things from time to tie that restore my faith in the whole big ball of wax. Usually, it tends to be little stories about how people are all the same, around the world, despite distance, time, and culture.

And sometimes, it's just a couple of videos of some guy dancing like a goofball in various places around the world, and people around the world dancing like a goofball with him. (wiki wiki wiki.)

Seriously, people. It's things like this that really make me love this whole place.
