not the week I asked for

Ugh. Late this morning, again. Bad new pattern. Worse today because I'm flying solo on this shift. Worser still, because the guy I was relieving doesn't think he'll be able to make his daughter's recital in time. So now I feel like a complete superjerk.

My most pressing issue these past couple days has, in fact, been my tongue. I thought I bit it the other night, but I'm beginning to think I cut it on a particularly pernicious piece of pretzel. Regardless, it was swollen, and thusly rubbing on my teeth, which wasn't helping the healing process. And it's all the way in the back on the right, so it's hard to see. M. has me swishing with salt water, so hopefully that will speed the healing process. And hey, my snacking is way down, so, you know, bright side.

Picked up the second rental car last night. Signed up for 'the cheapest available,' which apparently translated to 'semi-fancy convertible.' Huh. They're charging me the same price as the economy, it's just the only car they had for me. Fine, twist my arm. Z. will be amused, at least.

On other news, got a little bit of painting done last night, and pretty pleased with what I accomplished in a short amount of time. So we'll stick with that.

Tonight, birthday party. Tomorrow, bebe. Hopefully a pleasant weekend will let me get back on track. Unfortunately, have too much to get done for it to be that pleasant a weekend, but we'll see what we can do.
