Saturday evening, we went and caught Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. And, huh. I liked it. But it was a little long (they were trying to cram in a lot.) And it was downright, well, weird. Parts were metaphysical, parts were esoteric, and if you actually sit down and think about the plot (clearly not the point) it was convoluted and crazy. That being said, it was an entertaining movie. A lot of things happen, and it's fun to watch. They manage a large cast surprisingly well; they accumulated a huge cast of minor characters, and virtually everyone gets a good part (except, naturally, my personal favorite. Feh.) Oh, and in case you haven't seen it yet either, make sure to stick around for after the credits.

Anyways. Better than the second, but not as good as the first.

I didn't read anyone else's LJ on this (since I didn't want to spoil myself) so if you have comments you'd like me to see, drop them here, or drop me a link.

[EDIT: Obviously, spoilers in comments. Just so you know.]

New trailers:
* Ratatouille - OK, the new trailer is great. Sign me up.
* Enchanted - This will either be fun, or the worst movie of the year. I know where I'd put my money, if I was a betting man.
* Transformers - New trailer on the big screen? SOLD.

Also, finally looked up this awesome poster, and it turns out it's a remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Color me undecided.
