Watched some of Microcosmos last night, but didn't have the attention span to stick with it. I think it could have benefited from more narration, despite the cliche inherent.

However, afterwards we sat down and watched Eddie Izzard: Dressed to Kill. Well beyond awesometastic, everyone's praise of it was well-placed. Snee hee hee.

Some letters from Ernest Hemingway to Marlene Dietrich have been donated to the Kennedy library

Oh, and as a certain cousin of RQ asked before: the Iraqi military death toll remains a mystery, as civilian casualties mount.

What was your phrasing, "as slanted as a ski slope?" This Cal Thomas person has a bit of a problem with his cultural superiority complex.
"... much of the Arab media - from Al Jazeera to state-run media in virtually every Arab country - continue to present an inaccurate image of the West."
I suppose this is in contrast to the amazingly accurate and impartial western media?

Dammit, I had a whole comment here, and livejournal hosed it because I wasn't logged in. Stupid browser.

The meat of it: amusingly, my initial Cal Thomas comment specifically labeled him as an ass, but I decided to tone down the insult level on an author I'd only seen one brief piece from.
