As a reminder: three of the top ten movies at the box office so far this year are comic book movies, including the #1 slot, and that's not including this weekend's offering, which is easily the most anticipated movie of the year. Furthermore, three big budget live-action TV shows premiering this fall are also comic book shows, which isn't including the many already on air or in development.

And all this at a time that sales of comic books themselves are way down.

Well, yes, but I think it's more that people prefer different media.

(I can't imagine not waiting for a graphic novel of anything, at the very least.)
